Curated by Francesca Dini

An exhibition devoted to Vincenzo Cabianca, an artist who has always been considered one of the driving forces behind the revolution of the Tuscan Macchiaioli. This first ever solo exhibition dedicated to the painter from Verona reconstructed the artist’s educational and pictorial career, illustrated through a fine array of his own paintings and those of his contemporaries. It thus offered the possibility of discovering the experience of an individual painter and his aesthetic choices through the story of the Macchiaioli as a group artistic movement. On display were over 80 paintings by Cabianca, who has always been seen as a crucial influence on the renewal instigated by the Tuscan realists, as well as several works by Cristiano Banti, Nino Costa, Giovanni Fattori and Telemaco Signorini.
